Rehearsals Begin

After a near 2 year hiatus from the jam space, The Mindsight finally got back on the saddle this past week and began rehearsing.  YeeeFuckingHaaaww!!!

The first effort showed some definite signs of rust, but the energy in the room was nothing shy of magical.  All of us, together, playing music…FINALLY, we got to feel like a band again!

Fuelled by exhilarating anxiety and raw emotion, the glorious vibrations that filled the air helped to shed us of our nervous fears and fulfilled our souls in a way that only music can.  And in spite of any negative connotation that may be associated with such fears, let it be known that shaking off those cob webs was, without a doubt, a positively cathartic experience.

On top of the thrill of just physically playing our music and evoking all those emotions found therein, was the joy of rehearsing with a bunch of new toys.  Did I mention we now have about 90% of the gear we wanted for our new live set up?!?  Oooohhh Yeeeaaah Boooyyyeee!!!  And, although all this gear comes with it’s share of complication, (as one might expect with such a complex schematic), it was definitely pretty kick ass to be rehearsing on in ears!

AT LAST, we could hear each other with supreme clarity and precision!  It was everything we had hoped and dreamed – UNTIL — We realized just how badly we suck!!!

But don’t worry – We’ll get better – I promise :)

The first jam was a gruelling 8 hours!  (That’s right!  I said it!  Gruelling!!!  I know, I know, music isn’t hard work, right?!?  WRONG!!!!  Rockin’ out takes a toll on one’s energy, contrary to popular belief!  Dick!!!) Needless to say, for a group of out of shape musicians who have not seen the light of the stage in 2 and a half years, I would say we faired quite well.

The next few days saw practices ranging from 4-6 hours, with one, exceptionally brief, hour long rehearsal, due to technical difficulties.  (Enter stage left: “Ground Loop”).  Anywho, in spite of a few tiny hitches, all in all, the first week of rehearsals was very productive and, if nothing else, it gave us a great jumping off point.

Hey!!!  Wait a second……..All this talk of The Mindsight rehearsing again……Hmmmm!??!?  Does that mean they found a new guitarist ?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?

DUN DUN DUUUUN    (To the tune of mysteriousness….Yes, I made that word up!)

BUT on that note, before we let that hairy pussy out of the bag, I’m afraid y’all will have to wait another day (…or week…or month) for more Mindsight news!  And perhaps, at that time of greener pastures and sunny skies, we will provide a conclusion to this mystery, and….perhaps not :P  One thing is certain, however — Just as today’s clouds of raining ball sacks and putrid excrement have vanished, I too, must bid you all adieu.

Until next time….
